Terms and Conditions
Rules of conduct at events
1. Please behave like a courteous house guest. Don’t run, shout or drink to excess. Don’t break things. Don’t steal from other people. Nothing in the event will ever require you to behave discourteously.
2. Please obey all signage. NO ADMITTANCE or DANGER ELECTRICITY are not fictional warnings.
3. None of the rooms have locks on the doors. Guest rooms will be clearly marked. Do not enter any other guests’ rooms unless accompanied by that guest.
4. Please follow instructions from members of staff.
5. Please don’t counterfeit any game items.
6. Please be respectful of the house. It is old; take care of it.
Any guest breaking these rules will be asked to leave.
Accessibility
Treowen is a beautiful four-storey manor house that was built in 1623. The floors can be uneven and there are stairs to all of the guest bedrooms. The Key of Dreams is a site-specific event and because of the house’s 17th-century protected status, it is sadly not possible to facilitate all modern access needs. Guests in wheelchairs or with other significant mobility issues will not be able to access the majority of the building, and will be limited in their ability to participate in the full event. We hope to run more Key of Dreams events in other more accessible locations in future.
The Key of Dreams also uses scent and sound as part of the experience. It may not be suitable for guests with medical conditions affecting the senses of smell, vision, or hearing, particularly asthma, multiple chemical sensitivity, or other respiratory conditions.
If you have any questions we would be very happy to discuss them with you. Please email enquiries@thekeyofdreams.co.uk to discuss your individual needs.
Safety
All rooms have fire safety information and staff will provide a safety briefing on arrival. Please ensure you are aware of the exits in the event you need to evacuate.
All guests are responsible for their own safety and property while at the venue.
Lemon Difficult will not be held liable for any loss or damage incurred to your person or property at an event to the extent permitted by law.
Booking and Refunds
After booking, we offer a 14 day cooling off period for refunds. After the 14 day period, refunds will be at our discretion, and based on being able to fill your booked room.
Private bookings pay a 50% deposit which is due on booking. The remaining 50% balance is due 2 months before the show date.
Moving a booking after the 14 day cooling off period will incur a 15% charge and is dependent on venue and staff availability.
Refunds will be returned via the original payment provider (Paypal or Stripe), minus any transaction fees incurred (1.4% — 2.9% depending on the payment method).
This agreement is subject to the law of England and Wales; any legal dispute will be settled in the United Kingdom, under the jurisdiction of the Courts of England and Wales.
If any provision of this agreement is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, this shall not render void the remaining provisions – such an invalidated provision shall be amended only to the extent required for it to become valid, legal and enforceable.
